SPECIAL APPRECIATION - MICHAEL GENCHIK Z'll A special thank you to Michael (Mordcha) Genchik (1923-2005), of blessed memory. He found this site during its first month of existence in 2002 and for the next three years until his passing he encouraged its growth and development. Among other things he assisted with content, promoted www.Rumbula.org and connected us with the Jewish Survivors of Latvia Association (JSLA) with which we have had a long association. Mordcha Genchik had intense personal connections to Rumbula Forest, for unfortunately he lost 7 members of his family there. For 20 years after the war he then maintained what had become the cemetery of nearly 25,000 as an officer in the Russian Army. May his memory be for a blessing.
